Guns Germs and Steel

Parent Note (Up)

The book Guns, Germs & Steel is a Pulitzer prize winning book that beautifully takes one through an explanation of why some civilisations came to dominate the world, while others did not. It gives historical context across a large timeline, and shows that biological differences were not as much at play as simple historical chance events which gave rise to the 3 great pilars of guns, germs and steel.

While I have not made my own notes for this book, the notes make by Kim Marshall are very useful to recap learnings from the book. I have also attached the same summary below for convenience. The main takeaways from the book for me was the idea of looking at history as "searching for answers in a thorough an thought provoking manner".
